Sustainability Data Consultant
Makers of a sustainable future.
Grow. Make a difference. Together.
We want to be the best at what we do, and if this resonates with you, it's worth continuing to read, as we are currently looking for a Microsoft-focused Sustainability Data Consultant to join our Data & Analytics team. 🌱
Your role will be at the core of customer interface, providing value to our clients through top-notch data solutions. At Knowit, we don't seek quick wins; instead, we aim to be a trusted partner to our clients. We guide them towards a data-driven culture by creating intelligent solutions that address current and future business challenges. To see what this means in practice, you can take a look at our case description with Stora Enso, for example.
What is the role about?
As a Sustainability Data Consultant, your task is to help our clients understand and calculate their carbon footprint based on data. You will also assist in creating ESG reports and sharing sustainability data, whether internally, externally, or for regulatory reporting (CSRD). At the same time, you bring an external perspective to organizations and emphasize the importance of a data-driven culture.
In short:
- You will be a Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM) expert, participating in both technical pre-sales work and consulting projects.
- You understand the Microsoft product ecosystem around MSM, especially PowerApps, Fabric, and Power BI, and are willing to support customers with these tools when needed.
- You help clients create value and understanding from sustainability data, not just by producing it but by leveraging it for real business impact.
- You are willing to train and coach clients, assisting them in adopting data platforms, collecting data, and defining data needs.
- You bring best practices in analytics to our clients and organization, supporting decision-making and operational execution.
What do we expect from you?
At Knowit, we are all Makers at heart—we do what we promise, and we do it with dedication. We are proud of our work and our business-driven expertise.
In addition to the Maker mindset, succeeding in this role requires a strong understanding of Microsoft/Azure technologies, a forward-thinking approach, and the ability to challenge past ways of working. You should also have a vision for designing solutions that align with our clients’ data and business needs.
We hope that your skillset includes some of the following:
- Understanding of end-to-end data pipelines, from collecting data from source systems to utilizing it in scalable, large environments.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft data platforms, particularly PowerApps, enabling you to develop new solutions and promote best practices for both clients and our team.
- Experience and understanding of how sustainability data is generated from various business functions and how organizations can benefit from it.
- Familiarity with different data sources, such as ERP and CRM systems, data warehouses, and databases (e.g., MS Dynamics).
- Excellent communication, interaction, and presentation skills in Finnish and/or English.
- A natural desire to work in a client-facing role, build trust through expertise, and act as a consultative advisor.
- Professional pride and enthusiasm for genuine, data-driven sustainability reporting and an understanding of sustainability reporting standards (GRI, SBTs).
Key technologies related to this role and team: Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM), Sustainability Cloud, Fabric, Power BI, Power Apps, Azure, Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, Dynamics, Tableau, Snowflake.
